Philippians 4:6
This verse simply reminds us to keep our minds on what is of God. Often times, we forget how powerful our thoughts truly are. Many of us are being governed by what we allow to come through our thought process. Philippians 4:6 is a passage from the Apostle Paul pleading with us to remember that our thoughts should always take us back to what God says and wants for our lives; The message translation says, “Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers letting God know your concerns. This verse has carried me through one of the toughest seasons of my life as my mom battled stage 3 breast cancer for 8 months. When worry and fear wanted to cloud my judgement, I took my petitions of healing for her to God. At the end of the day, me staying up worrying or stressing wasn’t going to change the fact that she had to go through this trial. But is was just right for our God. And He delivered. My faith was increased to another level walking through this season with her. But honestly, I grew also as a believer and someone who belittled the true essence of faith and lending our worries to the Father. I want to encourage you to do that, praise and pray. Let your thoughts be anchored in what His words has declared over your life! Go in peace knowing that He is God, and He won’t fail!
